Avenged Sevenfold approached Gallagher Staging to produce an elaborate custom set for their 2013 Hail to the King Tour. Gallagher Staging’s team spearheaded a comprehensive strategy to construct and execute a manageable, yet intricate tour set for this popular Southern California rock band.

Using a large portion of high-grade foam, the entire set went through a sophisticated process of drawing, cutting, shaping, sculpting, hard coating, and painting each piece, all by hand. The custom “King” assembly was constructed on a mobilator and equipped with animatronics, enabling the King to have an actuating head and wings. In addition, custom aluminum frames supported the king, accommodating pyrotechnics near the wings.

Gallagher Staging also provided a custom 30’ tall x 64’ wide scenic wall (hand-painted), custom set carts, and aluminum stair units with cutouts to allow backlighting and fog to pass through.

The results? Total domination. The first leg of the Avenged Sevenfold Tour earned a healthy amount of traditional press, further amplifying ticket sales for impending tour dates.  Members of Avenged Sevenfold were ecstatic by their larger than life set piece, marking another triumph for Gallagher Staging.
